WELCOME TO

About Us

Three years ago, I was given an assignment, and I ran from it. I ran because it was hard. I ran because I didn’t know what to do. I ran because I didn’t want to fulfill the assignment. I ran because I didn’t think I was good enough or strong enough to do it. I ran because fulfilling the assignment meant I failed. So, I thought.

Clarissa always believed in me. She’s my biggest cheerleader and always saw more in me than I saw in myself. She always had the right words, knew exactly what to do and was by my side when I didn’t realize I needed help. Clarissa loved people and had a way of drawing in complete strangers and loving on them. Once you met her, you loved her for life and if she loved you, it was real, and you knew it.

Last year, I lost Clarissa. Nothing will make it better. Nothing will bring her back. Nothing will take my pain away, but I did make a promise to her. I promised her I would bring her “home” and I never got the chance to do that before I lost her.

The Clarissa project not only fulfills my assignment but more importantly, it fulfills my promise to Clarissa. Every state, county, and city you go to is experiencing some sort of housing disparity. It’s no secret. What do we do about it? We can’t just talk about it. We must be part of the solution and that’s what The Clarissa Project is, part of the solution. Join us as we work to end housing disparity across the country, one home at a time.

The Clarissa Project is an agency dedicated to providing safe, affordable housing options for underprivileged and underserved adults. We provide a safe haven for individuals who may find themselves facing uncertain living situations. Our agency is committed to helping those in need by offering housing solutions that foster a sense of independence through healing and growth.

WHO WE SERVE

Small Call to Action HeadlineThe Clarissa Project serves as a liaison between case managers, social workers, community leaders and individuals in need of housing. We understand the challenges and open our homes to single adults, young adults who have aged out of foster care, college students who cannot afford housing, veterans, homeless, the employee who cannot find sustainable housing, and more.

In our Independent Living Facility (ILF), we assist those who are able to live and thrive in life as an independent adult. What sets the Clarissa Project apart is that there is no credit check, no market rental rates, no high deposits, and life events are allowed. We do not administer medications, provide transportation, or cook for our residents. Instead, we provide a shared living environment where we focus on affordability, safety, and community.
